Amala Paul steps into SandalwoodPublished: April 21, 2016
After carving a niche for herself in Kollywood and Mollywood, it’s now time for Amala Paul to make her presence felt in Sandalwood. She is all set to make her Kannada debut in a movie with Sudeep.
Titled ‘Hebbuli‘, the movie, tipped to be a romantic drama, will be directed by Krishna. While Sudeep plays a soldier, the ‘Mynaa’ and ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ actress will be essaying the role of an MBBS student.
“I am excited to be part of the project. It will be shot in Kashmir, Mysore and Iceland, and I am so eager to visit these places,” says Amala, adding that ‘Hebbuli’ would be a perfect launchpad for her in Kannada.
In Kollywood, Amala Paul is playing the mother of a teenage girl (14-year-old) in ‘Amma Kanakku’, a film produced by Dhanush. Revathy dons a key role in the flick, which has music by maestro Ilayaraja.
The movie is a remake of Hindi flick ‘Nil Battey Sannata’. But both versions will be hitting the screens simultaneously. And both are helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
