Anirudh appears before policePublished: January 13, 2016
Putting an end to a hide and seek game, music composer Anirudh, who was in Canada ever since the ‘Beep song’ controversy erupted, appeared before the Coimbatore police on Tuesday.
Accompanied by an advocate, Anirudh presented himself before the Race Course police station in the industrial city and offered his explanation on the controversial number. He told the police that he was in no way connected with the song, sources said.
Soon, Anirudh himself came out with a post on his microblogging page. “Hello all! As required of me, I have reported to the Police of Coimbatore in person and given my statement. Thanks to the fans and to everyone for your love and support,” he wrote.
In the meantime, Simbu on Tuesday filed a fresh appeal in the Madras High Court, requesting an order to quash cases filed against him for the song. Citing a Supreme Court order, his counsel said only one case can be filed for a particular issue and sought to dismiss other petitions against the actor-singer.
