Court gives more breather to SimbuPublished: January 11, 2016
Simbu today approached the Madras high court, requesting time to appear before Chennai and Coimbatore police over the ‘Beep song’ row.
Accepting his plea, the court asked him to present himself to the police before January 29. It is to be noted that Simbu was to appear before the cops today (January 11), as per the summons issued to him.
Only recently, the court made it clear that cases were filed against Simbu only under bailable sections and asked him to approach appropriate forums to get relief.
The ‘Beep song‘, which had cuss words against women, sparked huge furore in Tamil Nadu, with various organisations staging protests and filing cases against Simbu and Anirudh.
While Simbu accepted it was his song, Anirudh distanced himself from it.
