Crucial day for SimbuPublished: January 4, 2016
An anticipatory bail plea by Simbu in the controversial ‘Beep Song’ issue will be taken up for hearing again by the Madras high court today (4 January).
When it was taken up on December 21, the court, after hearing the arguments of the government and Simbu, posted it for 4 January. It also refused to give anticipatory bail to the actor-singer. Today, Justice Rajendran would hear the plea again.
Meanwhile, Anirudh has sought 15 days time to appear before Coimbatore police in connection with a case registered against him and Simbu over ‘Beep Song’.
In a letter to the inspector of Race Course Police station, handed over by his lawyers, Anirudh sought grant of extension of time to appear, since he was in London, after taking part in a concert in Canada dedicated to Chennai’s flood victims.
Anirudh said he will return to India in the second week of January and he will report before them as soon as possible. He also reiterated that he was in no way connected with the controversial song.
