Dulquer, Parvathy bag govt awardsPublished: March 2, 2016
Dulquer Salman and Parvathy have been adjudged as the Best Actor and Best Actress at this year’s Kerala State Film Awards. An official announcement was made in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
While Dulquer is popular in Kollywood thanks to ‘Vaayai Moodi Pesavum’ and ‘OK Kanmani’, Parvathy was part of Tamil films such as ‘Poo’, ‘Mariyan’ and the much recent ‘Bangalore Naatkal’.
The former has won the Kerala government award for ‘Charlie’, and the latter for ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’. Interestingly, both the movie led the winners list with eight and seven awards, respectively.
‘Ozhivu Divasathe Kali’, directed by Sanalkumar Sasidharan, was named the Best Film and Martin Prakkat won the Best Director award for ‘Charlie’. Veteran singer P Jayachandran won the award for Best Playback Singer for ‘Sarathambaram…’ song in ‘Ennu Ninde Moideen’.
Sreebala Menon won the best debutant director award for her movie Love ’24X7′, while Madhushree Narayan became the Best Female Singer for her song in ‘Edavapathi’.
