Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah presented Mandolin U Shrinivas Award to veteran singer S P Balasubrahmanyam and T M Krishna for immense contribution to the music field in Chennai on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Rosaiah said, “S P Balasubrahmanyam, the renounced playback singer, is a recipient of 6 coveted National Awards and several other awards. His contribution to the film industry is really a remarkable one.”

“I congratulate the recipients of the awards and wish them best in their endeavours. I am sure they would bring in many more accolades to the music field,” he added.

Paying rich tributes on Mandolin Shrinivas, Rosaiah said, “His vision for the younger generation was not restricted to playing Mandolin but other instruments as well, as he believed playing a musical instrument brings joy to one and to everyone around him.”

He mesmerized the audience by his melody of music and made them spellbound by his scintillating performance. The clutches of fate has cut short the life of a Musical Genius, added the Governor.
