How ‘Imsai Arasan…’ sequel materialised?Published: April 20, 2016
Now that it’s official that Lyca Productions and Shankar’s S Pictures will bankroll together the sequel of ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi’, interesting details about how the project became a reality have emerged.
According to sources, during the shoot of ‘2.0’, Shankar was telling a top official of Lyca that though he wanted to produce ‘Imsai Arasan…’ sequel, the heavy budget required for the project held him back, as he had almost stopped producing movies due to some bitter experiences.
It was at that time Lyca came forward to partner with Shankar for the movie. “Following this, things happened in a jiffy and both Chimbu Devan and Vadivelu gave their nod for the project. The film will now hit the floors soon,” sources added.
‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi’ is a 2006 historical-comedy film written and directed by Chimbu Deven. The film stars Vadivelu in his debut as a lead actor. Manorama, Nassar, Ilavarasu, Sreeman and Nagesh played supporting roles. Shankar produced and distributed the film under his production banner S Pictures.
