Jayam Ravi’s special dayPublished: September 10, 2015
Today (September 10) is Jayam Ravi‘s birthday and the actor has a special reason to celebrate it in a grand way this year, as his ‘Thani Oruvan’ has been declared as the biggest ever hit in his more than a decade old career.
Though he and his elder brother Mohan Raja successfully gave films such as ‘Jayam’, ‘M Kumaran Son Of Mahalakshmi’, ‘Unakkum Enakkum’, ‘Santhosh Subramaniam’ and ‘Thillalangadi’ so far, ‘Thani Oruvan’ stands different, as it is not a remake.
Ravi, son of editor Mohan, always wanted to enter cinema. Before acting, Ravi had been an assistant director to Suresh Krishna in the 2001 film ‘Aalavandhan’. He was also involved in several discussions and scenes for his brother’s directional venture ‘Velayudham‘.
He studied dancing under the Bharatnatyam dancer Nalini Balakrishnan and performed his arangetram at the age of 12. After completing his degree in Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai, he underwent training in acting at the Kishore Namit Kapur Institute in Mumbai.
