‘Kaaka Muttai’ is now ‘Half Ticket’Published: April 6, 2016
The much acclaimed ‘Kaaka Muttai’ is all set to be remade in Marathi. Titled ‘Half Ticket’, the Marathi version will be helmed by Samit Kakkad who has earlier made ‘Aayna Ka Bayna’.
Confirming the development, the filmmaker says, “The basic soul of the film will be kept intact. But we will be making some changes as the story will be based in Mumbai.”
Kaaka Muttai’s story revolves around two slum children of Chennai, whose desire is to taste a pizza. The film had its world premiere on 5 September 2014 at the 39th Toronto International Film Festival, and was released worldwide on 5 June 2015.
Besides receiving widespread acclaim for its story and cast performances, it went on to win two National Film Awards at the 2015 ceremony – Best Children’s Film and Best Child Artiste (Ramesh and Vignesh).
