‘Ko-2′ to cash in on election moodPublished: April 9, 2016
Just before the 2011 Assembly elections, ‘Ko’ hit the screens and the Jiiva-starrer political thriller went on to become blockbuster. And now, exactly 10 days before the elections, its sequel ‘Ko-2′ will see the light of the day.
R S Infotainment, the producers of ‘Ko-2′, have confirmed that the film would be released on May 6 (the polling date is May 16). They are of the hope that the film would be apt for the election mood in Tamil Nadu.
‘Ko-2‘ is written and directed by Sarath, who earlier worked as associate director for Kamal Haasan’s ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ and Ajith’s ‘Billa II’. The film produced by Elred Kumar features Bobby Simha and Nikki Galrani in the leading roles, while Prakash Raj reprises his role from the first film.
A stand-alone sequel to the successful 2011 film ‘Ko’, ‘Ko 2′ is said to be a remake of Telugu film ‘Prathinidhi’. It’s about a journalist kidnapping the chief minister of the state for a unique reason.
