After a four-day gap, actors, actresses, directors and technicians of Tamil film industry resumed work today, as the strike announced by Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) was withdrawn.
“Shootings and other activities got a restart in Chennai and other parts,” sources say, adding: “Shootings for movies such as Kamal Haasan‘s Thoongavanam, Ajith‘s 56th movie and Vijay‘s next with Atlee are on.”
Following a breakthrough in talks with Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) over wage revisions, TFPC announced on Wednesday night that the strike was withdrawn.
In a statement, the TFPC said, “Except for the stunt union, we have concluded negotiations with other unions. We will be discussing the matter with the stunt union on Thursday.”
“Since an amicable solution has been arrived at with other groups, production and post-production work will resume from July 31, 2015,” it added.
