The ‘chocolate hero’ role in Mani Ratnam movies, which was made popular by the likes of Karthik, Aravindswami and Madhavan, was filled by Dulquer Salman in ‘OK Kanmani’.
And now, Madhavan is getting ready to wear Dulquer’s shoes in the Tamil remake of Malayalam hit ‘Charlie’. According to sources, Martin Prakkat, who wielded the megaphone for the Malayalam original, might direct the Tamil version too.
‘Charlie’, which had Dulquer and Parvathy in lead roles, released on 24 December 2015. It won a whopping number of eight awards at the 46th Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Cinematography.
The story is about a carefree vagabond, (Dulquer Salmaan) and Tessa (Parvathy), a graphic artist who runs from home to avoid her marriage.
