Madhu Shalini of ‘Avan Ivan’ fame, who is playing a key role in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thoonga Vanam’, is all praise for the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’. “It was a great learning experience working with Kamal sir,” she says.
“I was very nervous on the sets for the first few days. Kamal sir understood it and took all efforts to make me feel at ease,” she says, adding: “I will treasure forever the memories of working in ‘Thoonga Vanam’.”
Madhu Shalini is popular in Tollywood than Kollywood and she is happy that ‘Thoonga Vanam’ is being made into a bilingual (its Telugu version has been titled ‘Cheekati Rajyam’, it may be noted).
Directed by Rajesh M Selva, a longtime associate of Kamal, ‘Thoonga Vanam’ has music by Ghibran. Trisha, Prakash Raj, Yugi Sethu, Kishore, Asha Sarath and others have played key roles. The film is gearing up to hit the screens soon.
