Mani Ratnam film dropped?Published: October 29, 2015
Yes, though there is no official word yet, the buzz in industry circles is that Mani Ratnam has dropped his proposed project, a multi-starrer bilingual, due to financial reasons.
If sources are to be believed, since the film required heavy budget and it had some risks too, the ace director has dropped it. “Very soon, Mani will decide on a fresh project,” sources said.
The film was initially set to have Karthi, Dulquer Salman, Keerthi Suresh and Shruti Haasan in the lead. Then it was said Dulqer and Keerthi walked out due to delay in the commencement and they were replaced by Nani and Nitya Menen, respectively.
Meanwhile, there are others who say that the film has not been dropped and it is very much on. “There are few practical difficulties in starting it immediately. But things will be cleared soon,” they added.
