Mysskin, who was in Japan recently, visited the grave of his favourite filmmaker Akira Kurosawa and paid respects. “It was an emotional moment for Mysskin. He kissed the grave and offered flowers,” sources said.
Kurosawa was one of the major inspirations for Mysskin and one can witness the influence of the legendary Japanese director in Mysskin’s movies.
Regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema, Kurosawa directed 30 films in a career spanning 57 years. In 1990, he accepted the Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement. Posthumously, he was named “Asian of the Century” in the “Arts, Literature, and Culture” category by AsianWeek magazine and CNN.
Meanwhile, Mysskin is currently busy with a negative role in ‘Savara Kaththi’, a film featuring director Ram of ‘Thanga Meenkal’ fame in the lead role. He will soon start his directorial venture.
