Now, it’s Aditi opposite Karthi in Mani’s nextPublished: April 21, 2016
From Shruti Haasan to Sai Pallavi, names of at least four actresses did rounds as the heroine of Mani Ratnam’s next film which will have Karthi in the lead. But for one reason or another, none of them were able to be part of the movie.
Now the latest we hear is that the ace director has roped in Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari to play the female lead in the yet-to-be-named flick. Sources close to Aditi confirmed this but refused to divulge more details.
A classical bharatanatyam dancer, Aditi made her acting debut in the Malayalam film ‘Prajapathi’ (2006) and rose to fame after her performance in Sudhir Mishra’s 2011 film Yeh ‘Saali Zindagi’.
Aditi was not new to Kollywood, as she made her debut here with the 2007 Tamil film ‘Sringaram’, in which she enacted the lead character, as a devadasi. The film itself was based on classical dance.
