‘Paayum Puli’ divides producers, theatre owners

A fresh trouble is brewing in Kollywood, over theatre owners’ ‘unilateral decision’ not to screen Vishal starrer ‘Paayum Puli‘ in North Arcot, South Arcot and Chengalpet (NSC) area.

Alleging that Vendhar Movies had failed to settle losses faced by theatre owners for its earlier venture ‘Lingaa’, a curfew has been issued on the production and distribution house’s latest offering ‘Paayum Puli’.

Reacting to this, Tamil Film Producers Council has come out with a statement, alleging that theatre owners have taken this decision without consulting the TFPC and this is unfair.

“We will have to approach the Tamil Nadu government for a solution if the ban is not revoked,” TFPC said in the statement, adding that ‘Paayum Puli’ can not be made to suffer for the ‘losses’ of ‘Lingaa’.
