‘Paayum Puli’, ‘Savale Samali’ to release FridayPublished: September 3, 2015
Contrary to a statement by Tamil Film Producers Council that movies would not hit the screens from Friday (4 September), actor-producer Arun Pandian has announced that his venture ‘Savale Samali’ would hit the screens this week as planned.
Vishal too has announced that his ‘Paayum Puli’ will see the light of the day tomorrow. “Yes #PaayumPuli wil release as per schedule on Sep 4th worldwide both languages. Hard work will always pay off. God bless,” he posted on his microblogging page.
As ‘Paayum Puli‘, produced by Vendhar Movies, (who had distributed ‘Lingaa’) was gearing up to hit the screens September 4, a section of distributors and theatre owners issued a ‘red card’, alleging that they would not allow the film to release until the losses of ‘Lingaa’ are settled.
Following this, the TFPC said in an official statement that no new film will be allowed to release in theatres in the state from Friday. It also announced that all films that are currently running in cinemas in the state will be removed if the matter is not settled by September 10.
