The Final Show of the Trilogy Pasanga-2Published: December 23, 2015
With the official confirmation of the trilogy coming to an end with Pasanga-2, the hype for it has gone a bit higher making it one of the most sought movies among the Christmas releases. It was in June 2014 when Suriya launched his second production under his then new-launched studio 2D
Entertainment. a children’s film by Pandiraj. Suriya had wanted to begin 2D Entertainment with a newcomer’s film and listened to over 50 scripts but it was only Pandiraj who impressed him as his story was entertaining and had a message.
Initially the movie was shot for a few days in July 2014 and then had a break as the director wanted to complete his Simbu project Idhu Namma Aalu. It was then in May 2015 when a song was filmed on Suriya and over 60 children after the photography for Suriya was completed in Feb 2015. Suriya and Amala Paul’s portions were too wrapped up in May itself.
To be noted is that the movie was initially named Haikoo and later changed to Pasanga-2 in August to exploit the Tamil Nadu Government’s rule of entertainment tax exemption for films with Tamil names. The film stars three children—Kavin, Nayana and Abhiman, all newcomes alongside with Karthik Kumar, Bindu Madhavi, Ramdoss and Vidya Pradeep. The camoes by Amala Paul and Suriya also give added polish to the already
shining Trilogy. The music score is by Arrol Corelli of Pissasu fame and lyrics by Na. Muthukumar, Madhan Karky and Yugabharathi.
