Vijay Antony’s heroic venture ‘Pichaikkaran’, which is gearing up to hit the screens this weekend, has been granted tax exemption by the Tamil Nadu government.
“We are glad with this tax exemption. The movie trade will witness a mass commercial success. ‘Pichaikkaran’ which will hit the screens from 4th of this month,” declared Saravanan of K R Films in a press release.
Directed by Sasi, the film is tipped to be a thriller. Recently, following a controversy over a song in the movie, the lyrics were changed, it may be recalled.
The medical fraternity had taken offence to few lines in the ‘Glamour song’ featured in the movie, as they felt it was demeaning to doctors from backward communities.
The lyrics which went like, ‘Quotavula seatu vaangi doctor aavuran… Thappu thappa oosi pottu saagadikiraan’, evoked strong reactions from the doctor community, who threatened to go on a protest and sought legal action against its makers. Following this, the lines were altered.
