A R Rahman was shocked that his hometown Chennai was badly hit by the rains and the floods. Besides expressing deep condolence, he also announced Rs 25 lakh for flood relief works.

And now, going a step further, the Oscar-Grammy winner has decided to contribute a substantial portion of the revenue of his upcoming concert for the city’s flood relief and restoration operations.

The music maestro posted on his online page: “Chennaifloods To rebuild lives for continued solidarity#NenjeEzhu #ARRLIVE2016, 16th Jan. Part of the proceeds for flood rehabilitation.”

Rahman to perform in Chennai, Kovai

Meanwhile, Rahman is busy composing music for a string of upcoming Tamil flicks, including Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada starring Simbu, Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran 2′ directed by Shankar and Suriya-starrer 24 helmed by Vikram Kumar.
