Rajini, Kamal suggest new names for Nadigar SangamPublished: October 19, 2015
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, the two leading stars of Tamil cinema, had some suggestions for the new office-bearers of Nadigar Sangam on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote, Rajini said once the new members of the Nadigar Sangam were elected they should ensure that the name ‘South Indian Film Artistes Association’ should be changed as ‘Tamil Nadu Actors Association’.
He also said those elected should fulfill their poll promises without fail. If they do not fulfill they should voluntarily quit their posts. People would have great respect only if they do such an act, the Superstar said.
Rajini’s good friend Kamal had a different view on what the Nadigar Sangam should be called. He said, “This is an institution with a heritage. The South Indian Artistes Association must change to the Indian Artistes Association. People must not be divided on the basis of race, religion or language.”
On his part, Goundamani provided some lighter moments when he said Nadigar Sangam can be renamed as Kodambakkam Nadigar Sangam or Kilpakkam Nadigar Sangam.
