Rajini stopped Amitabh from being part of ‘Enthiran’Published: January 4, 2016
Amitabh Bachchan has revealed something interesting- that his good friend Superstar Rajinikanth told him not play villain in ‘Robot’ (‘Enthiran’), one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian cinema.
“Shankar had come to me and he wanted me to play the villain (in ‘Enthiran’). I called Rajini. He said, ‘people will not accept you as a villain, so don’t do it’. I said ok,” Amitabh said in an interview.
‘Enthiran’ is a 2010 Tamil movie, which featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh’s daughter-in-law, as the heroine. The film made in multiple languages had music by A R Rahman and art direction by Sabu Cyril.
Now, Rajini and Shankar are busy with ‘2.0’, sequel to ‘Enthiran’. Amy Jackson has replaced Aishwarya in this project, which is being produced by Lyca. Rahman is scoring music for the second part too. Shooting is on at a resort near Chennai.
