Rajini’s gift to AmaravatiPublished: October 22, 2015
Superstar Rajinikanth has gifted two vanity buses to Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, foundation stone for which was laid by prime minister Narendra Modi at a high profile function near Vijayawada today.
It is to be noted that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is a good friend of the ‘thalaivar’ and it was upon his request Rajini gifted the vehicles to Amaravati, sources said.
“The buses will be used to transport foreign delegates, top dignataries, investors and other VVIPs to Amaravati from the nearby airport. Naidu has conveyed his gratitude to Rajini,” sources added.
Modi laid the foundation stone of the capital city Amaravati at a village in Guntur district today, in a mega event for which the state government has made elaborate arrangements. About four to five lakh people attended the function at Uddandarayunipalem village on the banks of river Krishna.
Amaravati literally means “the town lives forever” is also referred as Amareswaram, for its famous Amareswara temple dedicated to Lord Siva, one of the famous Pancharamas. It was formerly known as Andhra Nagari. It was the historical capital of the Satavahana dynasty in second century A.D.
