Sarath denies charges, challenges VishalPublished: October 15, 2015
Sarath Kumar, the present president of Nadigar Sangam, has presented a point by point rebuttal for charges made against him by the faction led by actor Vishal, at a press conference in ChennaiWednesday evening.
On the lease agreement.signed with Sathyam Cinemas to build a commercial complex on the 19-ground plot in T Nagar, Sarath said, “Had the commercial complex been completed in 2013 as planned, it could have generated crores of rupees in revenue. According to the deal with Sathyam, Nadigar Sangam would get Rs 24 lakh a month as lease sum.”
“The agreement that has been brought into question has been ratified by the executive body. The decision to get into an agreement was announced at the general body meeting and ratified subsequently. Despite me being so accessible, none of these actors, who went to the media accusing me, raised any questions back then,” he said.
The AISMK president also screened a documentary, that illustrated the timeline of events leading up to the present controversy using clips from many general body meetings, which had the participation of Nasser, Vishal and others, in the past.
