Shankar comments on RGV’s statement on ‘I’ trailer

Director Shankar was so much enthralled over the stunning response to the trailer of his ‘I’ Hindi version and the songs that were screened during the audio launch in Mumbai. Speaking on the occasion, director Shankar said, “The basic concept of ‘I’ was initially ideated before 15 years. Many ideas generate in me, but I take up the ones that really fascinate me and ‘I’ is a mere illustration. I am so much happy about Ram Gopal Varma’s appreciation for this trailer, but I have no comments to make with regards to other comments.”

When it came to the turn of Vikram, he said, “I have exerted my complete energy for three years into this film. I am always inspired by negative characters and every time, my school play group invites to me play Julius Ceaser, I would take up the role of Brutus. More than the roles played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra in Sholay, the character of Gabbar Singh inspired me a lot. I have played three different roles in ‘I’ and am sure you’ll all enjoy it.”
