Simbu fans attempt self – immolationPublished: December 21, 2015
The beep song controversy is witnessing so many twists and turns everyday. Today, even as two more cases were filed against Simbu, two of his fans attempted self-immolation. Their bid was however foiled by the police.
This afternoon, Simbu fans from across Tamil Nadu gathered in large numbers in front of his houst at T Nagar and raised slogans in support of the actor, stating that he was being given unfair treatment.
Suddenly, two persons, identified as Madhan and ‘Kettavan’ Prakash, doused kerosene on them and tried to set fire. However, the policemen there jumped into action and rescued them. This created tense moments.
Meanwhile, journalist Bismi and VCK leader Lakshman today filed cases against Simbu and Anirudh for the beep song. On Sunday, the cyber crime wing of the Chennai police booked them under Section 67 of the IT Act and 292 of IPC, both of which deal with obscenity, it may be recalled.
