Sridevi offers prayers in MaduraiPublished: April 16, 2016
Madurai had its ‘Mayilu’ moment recently, when veteran actress Sridevi was in the temple town and offered prayers at the renowned Sri Meenakshi Amman temple. She was accompanied by her friends.
“Feeling blessed at the Meenakshi temple, Madurai on Tamil New Year. A divine experience. With my holy circle of friends at the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. A fantastic visit and darshan on Tamil New Year,” Sridevi posted on her microblogging page, along with a picture of her in the temple.
It is learnt that a team from Mumbai and other parts of India, all friends of Sridevi, visited the temple as part of their south India tour.
Starting her career as child artiste, Sridevi was a popular heroine of Kollywood and Tollywood in the late 1970s and early 1980s, before she established herself in Bollywood and became the ‘lady superstar’ there.
After a long gap post her wedding with producer Boney Kapoor, she made a comeback with ‘English Vinglish’. In Kollywood, she was last seen in Vijay starrer ‘Puli’.
