Thanu’s compromise, Simbu’s charge, Pandavars’ denialPublished: October 8, 2015
Wednesday was yet another action filled day for Tamil cinema. An emergency meeting was conducted by various industry bodies in the forenoon, where a resolution was passed requesting warring actors to strike out a compromise formula for Nadigar Sangam elections.
Speaking to reporters, Producers Council president Kalaipuli S Thanu and Directors Association president Vikraman said actors should not fight like this. “This is not good for the industry. We are ready to broker peace between them and we will hold a meeting on October 10,” they said.
In the evening, Sarathkumar team members, including Radikaa, STR, Mohanram and others conducted a press meet, in which Simbu leveled charges against Vishal and others, stating that they were creating a divide among the actors. He also had a heated argument with the media persons.
And in the night, Pandavar Ani came out with a statement, turning down the compromise request of producers and actors. “When Producers Council can witness contest in elections, why not Nadigar Sangam. We are going in democratic way,” it said.
