‘Tharai Thappattai’ stamped ‘A’ class entertainerPublished: December 31, 2015
Director Bala’s ‘Tharai Thappattai’, the 1000th movie of maestro Ilayaraja, has been cleared by the Censor Board with ‘A’ certificate.
Though the movie is not eligible for tax exemption since it has been given ‘A’ certificate, it is said Bala might not go for appeal, as he did not want anyting to be cut or muted from the film.
Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar have played lead roles in ‘Tharai Thappattai’, which explores the lives of folk artistes. Ayngaran International will release it.
Recently, the audio was launched and Ilayaraja’s work was widely appreciated. Earlier, a grand audio launch was planned to celebrate the ‘Isaignani’ crossing 1000 movies.
However, Ilayaraja had asked Bala to drop the plan, as he was upset with the recent floods.
