Vadivelu plans ‘Imsai Arasan’ sequelPublished: March 15, 2016
According to sources, while the first part was produced by director Shankar’s S Pictures, the sequel will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Shankar. It is to be noted that the ‘mega director’ is currently busy with Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’, which too is being funded by Lyca.
“Talks for the project are going on and things will be finalised soon. The sequel will be more funny and thought-provoking than ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi,” sources added.
Set in the late 18th century during the early stages of the British Raj, the 2006 comedy film told the story of twin brothers separated at birth. Pulikesi XXIII, the foolish elder brother, becomes a puppet of his uncle, the Chief Minister, while Ukraputhan, the wise younger brother, becomes a patriot intent on saving his land and his brother.
