Vetrimaaran breaks silence on ‘Visaranai’Published: December 26, 2015
Though ‘Visaranai’ received appreciation from across the world after it was screened in film festivals, director Vetrimaaran maintained silence on it so far. Finally, with the film getting ready to hit the screens on January 29, he has spilled some beans.
According to the national award winning director, the film has been certified with U/A as the depiction of violence might be disturbing for children and requested parental guidance.
He also stated that ‘Visaranai’ is for the matured audience and not for the faint hearted. An experimental thriller produced by Dhanush, ‘Visaranai’ features Attakathi Dinesh, Anandhi and Aadukalam Murugadoss in the lead roles.
The film was adapted from novel titled Lock up, written by M Chandra Kumar, an auto rickshaw driver in Coimbatore. Vetrimaaran chose to begin the film in between schedules for his other venture ‘Soodhadi’ and signed up actors Attakathi Dinesh and Aadukalam Murugadoss to play convicts.
