Vijay, Suriya clash for Tamil New Year?Published: January 27, 2016
It looks like Vijay’s ‘Theri’ and Suriya’s ’24’ will compete for box-office honours, as plans are on to release both the movies for Tamil New Year (April 14).
While ‘Theri’ is an action entertainer featuring Vijay in the lead role(s), ’24’ is a sci-fi flick. The former is helmed by Atlee of ‘Raja Rani’ fame and the latter by Vikram Kumar of ‘Yaavarum Nalam’.
“Shoots of both the flicks are almost over and post-production works too are on in a hectic pace,” sources said. Suriya himself is producing ’24’ on his 2D Entertainment banner and Kalaipuli S Thanu is bankrolling ‘Theri’.
In the meantime, Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’, which was originally tipped to hit the screens on April 14, will now hit the screens in May. The Pa Ranjith-directed film too is produced by Thanu.
