The association between sports and cinema is getting thicker, with film celebrities and their family members investing in various sports events and teams. The latest example is Vijayakanth’s elder son Vijaya Prabhakaran.
The Captain’s son has bought the Chennai franchise in the Premier Badminton League (PBL). He has named the team as ‘Chennai Smashers’.
Among the badminton players bought by Vijaya Prabhakaran includes two-time bronze medallist at the World Championship and winner of Macau Open, Sindhu. He acquired her for approx Rs 53,40,756.
According to sources, Vijaya Prabhakaran is very much interested in sports, especially badminton. Meanwhile, his younger brother is busy with his second heroic venture ‘Tamizhan Endru Sol’, which has Vijayakanth in a key role.
