Why the title ‘Thodari’?Published: March 25, 2016
It was revealed late Thursday evening that Dhanush‘s upcoming film, directed by Prabhu Solomon, has been named ‘Thodari’. First look stills of the movie were also unveiled and they became instant hit among fans.
Meanwhile, interesting details have popped up on how the title was arrived at. ‘The team initially wanted to name the film as ‘Rayilu’, as the story takes place fully in a train. But they dropped the idea, since ‘Rayilu’ is derived from the English word ‘rail’ and hence may not be fit to get tax exemption,” sources said.
“It was at that time they came across the word Thodari, the short form of Thodar Vandi, which means train. After getting clearance from Tamil scholars, the title was registered and announced,” they added.
Keerthi Suresh plays the heroine of the movie, which has music by D Imman. While Dhanush plays a pantry worker in the train between New Delhi and Chennai, Keerthi plays the touch-up girl of a popular actress.
