Story-
As expected Sachin (Prateik) stumbles upon Jessie (Amy Jackson) and falls in love with her at the first sight. A mechanical Engineering student Sachin wants to make films that are totally disliked by Jessie. She is a year older to him and the biggest obstacle is that Jessie is a Malyalam Christian while sachin a Maharashtrian Brahmin. Sachin is mad about Jessie and wants her at any cost. Jessie gives up to Sachin's madness and falls for him. The predictable twist is that she loves her dad more than her love and so she sacrifices, only to meet after a gap of a year to get married.
Analysis-Menon tried to refresh the memories of one's first love with the film that might not appeal to the masses. Though the lovers might enjoy it, the film is not for everyone. It is too predictable and cliched. Menon definitely is very short of making a classic love story although the attempt was decent enough.
Perfomances-Prateik is known for giving power packed performances in his film but this time he falls short. He sure has the capabilities of carrying a film on his shoulders but somehow the film let's him down. Amy Jackson didn't appeal in the start but gradually u start likiing her. She acts better in the second half. The duo's chemistry is a strength of the film. Samantha's cameo isn't much to talk about but she does look good. Anay Sir is a pleasant addition to the cast. The rest of the supporting cast is decent too. However, Sachin Khedekar shines in whatever little he has.
Technicalities-Gautham Menon makes a decent debut but should have chosen a better subject. He tries his best to cover flaws but has left certain loopholes in the film that could have been avoided. The film stretches a lot and the interval seems like the end. The editing should have been more sleeker. A R Rehman's songs no wonder are soothing but at times create obstacle in the course of the film. Cinematography needs an applause while the screenplay could have been better. Background score is strictly Okay.
